James M. McCabe
Jim McCabe is the founder of The McCabe Law Firm, LLC, where he represents whistleblowers, and handles employment and business-related matters. With a background that includes experience at one of the nation’s largest law firms, Mr. McCabe brings a comprehensive understanding of complex legal disputes and a commitment to providing thoughtful, client-focused representation.
Prior to establishing his firm in 2017, Mr. McCabe practiced at Troutman Sanders LLP, where he spent over six years representing major corporations in high-stakes employment and business litigation. In this role, he was involved in handling sensitive and multifaceted disputes, often working on matters that required careful strategy and a deep understanding of both legal and business considerations. His experience representing large organisations has provided him with valuable insight into how such entities approach litigation, risk management, and dispute resolution.
During his time in large firm practice, Mr. McCabe observed a recurring imbalance: many individuals and smaller businesses involved in disputes did not have access to the same level of legal resources, preparation, or advocacy. This realisation shaped his professional direction and ultimately led to the founding of his own practice. Through The McCabe Law Firm, he seeks to provide clients—regardless of size or background—with legal representation that reflects diligence, careful preparation, and a clear understanding of their circumstances.
Mr. McCabe’s practice covers a broad range of employment and business matters. He advises and represents both employees and employers, offering guidance across disputes that may arise in the workplace or in commercial relationships. His approach is grounded in clarity, responsiveness, and a focus on helping clients understand their legal position so they can make informed decisions. Whether navigating a dispute or seeking preventative advice, clients benefit from his experience on both sides of employment-related matters.
In recognition of his professional work, Mr. McCabe was selected to the Rising Stars list from 2019 to 2021. This designation is based on a combination of peer recognition and professional achievement, reflecting the regard in which he is held within the legal community. Mr. McCabe earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was selected to participate in the appellate moot court team, an experience that helped refine his legal writing and advocacy skills. He was admitted to practice law in 2010.
Prior to his legal studies, he attended Wheaton College in Chicago, graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and ancient languages, along with a master’s degree in theology. His academic background reflects a longstanding interest in analytical thinking, ethics, and structured reasoning—qualities that continue to inform his legal practice.
Originally from Tyrone, Georgia, Mr. McCabe was active in sports during his school years, participating in football, basketball, and golf at Sandy Creek High School. He was also recognised by his peers as the most respected member of his graduating class—an early indication of the character and integrity that continue to guide his work today. Outside of his professional work, Mr. McCabe maintains an active role in his community, including serving in volunteer and board capacities. He values opportunities to contribute his time and skills beyond the practice of law.
Mr. McCabe is married to his wife, Marianne, and they have three children. In his personal time, he enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, golfing, travelling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
